GUILLAIN-BARRÉ SYNDROME ASSOCIATED WITH H1N1 IMMUNIZATION

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to report 2 cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome acquired after immunization with the vaccine against the H1N1 virus. Case description: Case 1 - male, caucasian, 52 years old, admitted with muscle weakness in the extremities, being more pronounced in the lower limbs. Case 2 - female, caucasian, 60 years. Case 2 - Female, Caucasian, 60 years, onset of the condition six days before admission, characterized by paresthesias in the feet. Conclusion: The cases reported here suggest a causal association between GBS and H1N1 monovalent vaccine
