ESTUDO CLÍNICO-EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DE PACIENTES COM DOENÇA DE PARKINSON EM SALVADOR-BAHIA
Abstract
Objective: To describe the clinical and epidemiological profile of patients with Parkinson's disease in Salvador. Methodology: This is an observational descriptive with retrospective collection of data from 79 patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Results: The mean age of patients was 66.7 years, the majority are male (69.62%), brown (52.94%), married (75%), from Salvador (74.58% ). The main comorbidity found was High Blood Pressure (46%), and family history of PD were found in 15.38%. The most had tremor (74.55%) as the first symptom and unilateral disease (69.09%). The main motor symptoms are tremor (93.1%), rigidity (81.03%), bradykinesia (53.45%) and parkinsonian gait (50%). Nonmotor symptoms were depression (21.57%), sleep disorders (17.65%), constipation (13.73%) and memory impairment (11.76%). The most commonly medication was the combination of Levodopa and Benserazide (79.66%), and access to physiotherapy and speech therapy accounted for 72.72% and 27.28%, respectively, of those who had indicated. Conclusion: Patients with PD are mainly males, brown, aged between 60 and 79 years. The research of non-motor symptoms should be more comprehensive, and access to rehabilitation services, even if they have reasonable, they can be extended.
