SÍNDROME NEUROLÉPTICA MALIGNA COM USO DE METOCLOPRAMIDA NA GESTAÇÃO: UM RELATO DE CASO

Abstract


Purpose: neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is an idiosyncratic reaction to dopamine antagonists. Case Description: patient at 17 weeks of gestation in regular use of metoclopramide for the treatment of hyperemesis gravidarum, admitted with altered level of consciousness, stiffness, fever, and hemodynamic instability. The NMS is an unusual manifestation of certain drugs, such as anti-emetics, but quickly and potentially fatal outcome. Conclusions: It is important to hold knowledge for proper diagnosis and treatment in order to reverse the situation.
