Abstract
Burnout is a work-related syndrome and is increasingly recognized in the world. This pathology is triggered in response to chronic emotional and interpersonal stressors at work. Objective: to characterize the Burnout Syndrome, the main psychological repercussions in physicians, describe its forms and exemplify how it directly affects their lives, as well as its epidemiology, risk factors, clinical picture, diagnosis, management and interventions that may contribute to improvement of the problem situation. Methodology: the methodology of systematic literature review based on the prism method was used, using as a basis the data obtained from the National Center For Biotechnlogy Information (NCBI) and the National Library of Medicine (NIH), filtered by the use of the following descriptors: Bournout; Mental health; Doctor. We obtained through the filters 5876 articles, 92 were selected and 20 remained that were incorporated in the text. Results: from what was discussed, we understand that burnout has become a common pathology in the experience of the doctor in his work environment, with strenuous and sometimes irreparable consequences on his mental health. The main repercussions of Burnout on the lives of physicians were discussed, as well as how to understand this pathology with an emphasis on improving the quality of life, the work environment and social life. With a good management of this patient, we can reinsert him in all places of life, without further repercussions. Conclusion: it is concluded that it is an extremely complex pathology that is difficult to analyze on the cause and symptoms, and that it needs numerous studies to amplify the databases on the subject.
